Gesm Spa is actively involved in the social field through the cooperation with social services and local health-care centers (Asl), as well as with volunteering associations and acting directly.
In the perspective of such cooperation, our company signed an agreement with NIL (a group that deals with the integration on the workplace), a body that favours the integration of disabled persons on the workplace; the agreement is related to the "social integration", as stated in the integrative note of the 2005 balance sheet.
A further fundamental element is the care for environment. The relevant studies carried out by the research and development department refer to alternative projects that enable the company to highlight interesting results in the reduction of polluting sewage, producing a positive impact on the environment and on the employees involved in the production cycle.
Activities supported out of the company
in cooperation with the volunteers of Minelli Association:
- Distribution of basic needs food to needy families;
- Purchase and distribution of food to different and numerous institutes, nurseries, nursing homes of the province;
- The financing of the "Scuola" project at premises made available by the company; the project aims at supporting children and young men living in difficult and complex family situations while they are completing their compulsory cycle of studies. Some of the students have been accepted on the request of the social services of the area;
- The organization of lunches or recreational activities at the nursing home in Prevalle and the dormitory of San Vincenzo in Brescia.
in cooperation with Graziana Dondio:
- The financing of humanitarian aid (clothes, medicines, food ..) personally delivered at a nursing home and a center for the care of disabled persons in Jugoslavia. The extreme poverty experienced within that social environment and the hostility towards catholics endanger the work of the team operating in the two centers supported by Gesm SpA.
in cooperation with Insieme association:
- The promotion and financing of a project dealing with distance adoptions, managed in India by the sisters of the Salesiani order and by the association Samparc;
- Support to the missionary Father Elia Ciapetti of the Comboniani order, who operates at the border between Sudan and Kenya. One of his key projects concerns the digging of water wells in order to help entire villages to survive droughts. That of droughts is a scourge that forces people to walk for kilometers throughout the desert seeking a source of water.

- Sponsorship and to support the musical "IO FRANCESCO" taken and inspired by the most famous “FORZA VENITE GENTE” of the master Michele Paulicelli, whose collection is entirely donated to the missionary Comboniano Padre Elia Ciapetti.
